Estimation of Interfacial Interaction at the Schungite/Rubber Interfaces – Poldushov M.A., Polyanin A.V., Moskalev V.A., Potapov E.E., Prekop Sh., Inzhinova L.M., Bobrov A.P., Belkovsky V.V., Miroshnikov Yu.P. (P. 32)

Contact angles of water and glycerol on the surfaces of schungite and a number of elastomers of different polarities were measured. The values of the surface and interfacial tensions as well as reversible work of adhesion and the contact angles at the schungite/polymer interfaces were estimated. Data obtained indicate that the schungite surface manifests a low polarity; therefore there is a good wetting by polymers of low or non-polar nature. The possibility is opened to prepare the high-filled elastomer compositions on the basis of these components.
